"A Picture Can Be Worth a Thousand Words"

The objects featured in The Illustrated Dictionary of Everyday Things are the "things" that make up our everyday lives. These are things children are asked to write about in school. These are the things that are in books, poems and tests. Children need to know the names of these things to be able to visualize and make logical inferences as they read (essential for reading comprehension).
